This novel? I read it once. Then again. And again. Honestly, I’ve lost count now. That alone should tell you how much I loved it! ❤️📚 This is probably the second-most reread novel in my collection, and for very good reason.
Let’s talk about why it’s so captivating!
💡 The System Concept:
The system here isn’t your typical shiny, helpful guide. It’s an evil system 😈—dark and manipulative—which adds a brilliant edge to the story. It shows that not everything in a peaceful world is sunshine and rainbows, and I loved how the novel kept this theme alive.
💪 Our MC, Xie Yang:
Xie Yang, a survivor of an apocalypse, is no ordinary transmigrator. He’s tough, sharp, and incredibly resourceful. His experiences from his apocalyptic past define his level-headed and pragmatic approach, even in this seemingly “peaceful” world. He’s a sharp mind in finance and an all-rounder when it comes to getting things done. What’s brilliant is how he bends the system to his advantage. Healing not just himself but also the ML’s mother? Absolute boss moves. 💯👑
💖 The ML (Male Lead):
The ML is the uncle of the novel’s original male protagonist (and the same FL!). A man burdened by illness (yes, terminal cancer 😢), he’s an older, more complex character with a gloomy and withdrawn nature. Watching Xie Yang not only cure his illness but also bring light back into his life is so satisfying.
What’s more? Even while dealing with cancer, the ML shows immense strength. Together with Xie Yang, they’re unstoppable. 🌟
😔 The FL (Female Lead):
The FL is tied to the system, but her journey is bittersweet. While she achieves some of her dreams, the price she pays is steep. By the end, you can’t help but feel for her.
🌀 What really hooked me:
Xie Yang feels like a lost soul who finds his purpose through this chaotic journey. His growth and unwavering personality, combined with his dynamic relationship with the ML, make the story utterly gripping. The mix of entertainment, finance, and personal redemption ties everything together beautifully. 📖✨
